Personal Care


Personal care support - Personal care provides assistance with daily self-care tasks in order to help a the person with dementia maintain appropriate standards of hygiene and grooming, including:

  • eating;
  • bathing;
  • toileting;
  • dressing;
  • grooming;
  • getting in and out of bed; and
  • moving about the house.


Personal care is normally provided in the home. In some cases, care may be provided in a centre, for example, where a person may be homeless or living in a temporary shelter.
