Dementia & Memory Loss

Many people find that they become more forgetful as they get older - this is common and in many cases is not due to dementia.

There are many other conditions that can cause memory problems such as depression, anxiety, medications and an underactive thyroid - many of these conditions are treatable.

If you are experiencing changes with your memory, we advise that you see a Health Professional as soon as possible. You may also find the information provided in the Understanding Memory Loss section of this website beneficial.

Dementia causes problems with memory. Symptoms generally develop gradually and typically progress over a number of years. In some cases, management with medications may be helpful. Further information is provided in Understanding Dementia.
